On Friday 30 September 2016, Shine a light was tasked with organising the 175th anniversary celebration of the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce at the Luxexpo site on Kirchberg.
Nine hundred economic decision-makers, Luxembourg entrepreneurs, ministers and members of the grand-ducal court attended the plenary session, which was followed by a cocktail reception.
Shine a light developed the visual identity for the event and was in charge of general production and the formatting of the presentation content.
The stage design had to take into account the room’s height restrictions while achieving maximum visibility for the audience.
Fronting the 25m wide stage background, two side screens projecting in cinemascope format added to the depth of the stage design.
At the centre, a translucent curtain featuring a video projection of the anniversary logo revealed a magnificent crystal chandelier symbolising the 175 years of the Chamber of Commerce.
The chosen jingles, the meticulously orchestrated lighting effects… attention was paid to every little detail to inject rhythm and emotion into the ceremony.
Apart from the various official speeches, a highlight of the evening was an impassioned talk by famous explorer, entrepreneur and pioneer Bertrand Piccard who stressed the need for entrepreneurial action to ensure the ongoing progress of business and mankind.
In a gesture symbolic of changing course for the future, the entire audience was subsequently invited to head across the stage to a cocktail space located in the wings and to enjoy the entertainment on offer.
