On Saturday 5 March 2016, the Grand Théâtre de la Ville de Luxembourg hosted the 7th edition of the “Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis” award ceremony. The ceremony’s new theatre configuration involving an audience of 800 professionals from the audiovisual world called for a format in keeping with equivalent international award ceremonies.

Designed by Shine a light, the simple, modern and original scenography gave pride of place to video content by taking full advantage of the depth of the Grand Théâtre stage with a rear projection in a 16x9m large format. The use of a video décor also allowed each of the award categories to be given a personal touch, while still ensuring a consistency with the overall visual identity of the ceremony, the effect being that of a giant light box on stage.

The installation of a customised black floor illuminated by integrated fluorescent lighting created a play of reflections during the video projections, giving the setting a dynamic, modern and intense feel. The visual universe of each category was customised by the colour effect achieved by the fluorescent lights, which were suspended above the stage or positioned at ground level. The two plexiglass stands, specially designed and produced by the agency, disappeared into the background to give pride of place to the individuals present on stage.

Actress Eugénie Anselin and man of culture Claude Frisoni performed as masters of ceremonies, co-presenting the ceremony with panache and great humour, sparing no public or political figures on the way.
The ceremony wound up with a cocktail dinner followed by a dance party in the foyer of the Grand Théâtre.
