HEINTZ VAN LANDEWYCK
—On 1 October 2015, Shine a light was called upon by tobacco manufacturer Heintz van Landewyck to organise a Cuba-themed launch party for its new products.
This evening was an occasion for Heintz van Landewyck to invite its partners, clients and distributors to sample the company’s new range of cigars and cigarillos, as well as to thank them for their loyalty – in a resolutely festive Cuban atmosphere.
The evening unfolded in part of the old production plant, which was fully converted and decorated for the occasion: tropical plants, Cuban flag, tobacco bales, hessian coffee sacks, barrels, old leather suitcases…
Particular care was given to the lighting so as to submerge the evening in a warm and convivial ambience. Displayed on several tables, the products were accentuated thanks to the use of LED cut-outs more commonly used in museum contexts. While two barmen prepared rum-based cocktails, the approximately 200 guests were treated to a band performing the great traditional Cuban classics throughout the evening.
An extension was added to the building to create a covered patio and to reinforce the relaxed atmosphere of the evening. A 1956 Chevrolet Belair graced the front of the building – to the great delight of guests who posed in front of it to have their photo taken, cigar in mouth.
