A centenarian that is doing very well

When we created this exceptional event for the 175th anniversary of the Chamber of Commerce, we were given the opportunity to immerse in the history of this special institution in Luxembourg closely related to the economic evolution of the country, between a past resolutely committed to development, a present focused on emerging challenges and a future full of promising innovations.

The client to surprise

Standing for the backbone of the economy, the Chamber of Commerce in Luxembourg has been supporting the national development for more than 175 years by assisting the companies at all stages of their life cycle.

From the traditional industry to the pioneering start-up, it has been proposing creative innovative solutions to face the major challenges of an ever-changing world.

The challenge ahead

The Chamber of Commerce called on our expertise in order to create an unforgettable event celebrating its 175thanniversary.

The retrospective of its history, its development and its evolution over time gave us the opportunity to establish the Chamber of Commerce as a leading public institution and to highlight its current values: responsiveness to today’s challenges, dynamism, good listening skills and innovating solutions.

The purpose was thus to strengthen its image of stability among its associates, board members, partners, political decision-makers, opinion leaders, members of the media as well as the Grand Ducal family that was invited and to prove their sustainability under all circumstances.

What could be more meaningful than creating a disruptive event focused on a playful and friendly approach to remind people what their strength is: an ability to act collectively in order to build together?

What we imagined

In front of a 25-meter-wide panoramic stage with two giant screens made to show off numerous computerised contents and videos, the 900 guests, among whom her Royal Highness The Grand Duchess and the heir apparent, attended the plenary ceremony. Right in the middle of the setting, a semi-transparent curtain with the anniversary logo of the Chamber of Commerce was revealing from time to time a huge crystal chandelier as a symbol of the times that the institution had to go through.

The evening was conducted by Eugénie Anselin and Claude Frisoni whose dynamism punctuated the series of official speeches and videos. Without omitting to mention the unforgettable keynote by the famous explorer, businessman and pioneer Bertrand Piccard about the necessity to dare and innovate in order to make both companies and people move forward.

As a symbol of moving forward the whole audience was asked to wander through scenes set in different spaces with various atmospheres as if to materialise the evolution over time of more than one hundred and fifty years. They were then invited to move across the stage to discover the cocktail reception and the various animations that had been organised backstage.

Growth, evolution and innovation. Past, present and future. Three issues. That was the starting point of our reflection.

Because a picture is worth a thousand words…
