Research available to anyone

A true meeting between the researchers and the general public, the Researcher’s Days are not only dedicated to popularising science but also to proposing a space for discussion about fields that seem very often abstract to a curious public, eager to learn, to discuss and to discover. It is within this universe mixing sharing and interaction that the three-day-long event was to unfold and to activate the expected communication levers.

The client to surprise

An essential event for all the country’s scientists, the Researchers’ Days organised by the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR), are a reference for supporting the research activities in Luxembourg. They give to the scientists the opportunity to present their findings to a wider public able to interact with them so as to get a better understanding and a different vision of the scientific community.

The challenge ahead

For the 2014 edition, the Researchers’ Days called on us to ask our creativity and our organisation skills think this meeting between science and the general public over three days in a fun and original way.

This event is also a way to present science in a more recreational aspect, within the reach of everyone and more especially younger people, which may awaken vocations, answer their desire to get into this field and to become the scientists of tomorrow.

What we imagined

Through a recreational interactive and participative approach, the Researchers’ Days had the wish to awaken curiosity and interest among the youngsters as well as the grown-ups for sciences and technologies. Those three days aimed to give the experience of both learning and entertaining in close contact with a science that should be accessible for all.

As soon as the entrance, white inflatable structures covered with fake grass and sets of lights in a guinguette style were offering not only the sensation of an enlarged space for the Exit 07 but were also bringing conviviality to the event.

The staging focused on visual identity or appropriate and coherent branding items helped to highlight the exhibitors and the workshops were conceived in an efficient logistical installation to ensure a smooth visitor flow and increase visiting time.

From the exhibition’s space organisation to interaction in the workshops or exchanges between professionals and public at large, everything was thought to offer all the participants to Researchers’ Days the possibility of sharing ideas in a friendly atmosphere making of them an essential event in the scientific community.
