The client to surprise

Since its opening in 1992, Il Riccio has been the only real “trattoria” that is typically Italian in the center of Luxembourg city. Its gastronomic cooking with delicate Mediterranean flavours and tastes has become a reference for delicate gourmets looking for a real traditional Italian know-how.

THE BEST OF ITALY

The important point was to be able to transpose, to bring to life, to make explicit the values of sincerity, friendliness and authenticity so dear to the restaurant through both the scenery and the animations.

The challenge ahead

In order to value the name for its 25th anniversary, Il Riccio invited friends, family, regular customers, neighbours and partners to a travel back to his Italian roots, to the sources of his know-how by proposing an atmosphere assumed to sublimate the taste of Italian haute cuisine in a simple and authentic way.

What we imagined

In reference to washing hanging from the windows to dry in the Italian lanes, 250 guests were welcomed to this event branding in an original setting placed under the carved arcades of the Cercle Cité, a classical 100-year-old building.

Inside the building numerous unpaired photophores were illuminating and highlighting the monumental staircase and were positioned on both sides as if showing the way to the guests.

The main room, in a newly redecorated setting as a tribute to Italy in all its diversity, was displaying long wooden host tables, olive trees, aromatic herbs, iconic Italian products and vegetables presented under glass domes as a painting in Arcimboldo style. The space was all bursting with life and colours thanks to the large windows bathing the whole room with light. Like in an open-air village, market stalls topped with bayadere-striped cloth and decorated with lights in the style ‘Guinguette’ were offering a sensorial path highlighting a typically Southern bouquet full of tastes and aromas.

It is with an accordion playing that this event placed under the sign of sharing, escaping and discovering allowed this Luxembourg institution of Italian cooking to thank all those who, from the beginning, had been following, living and participating to this adventure.
