A financial summit meeting
Ensuring good relationships among its members is one of the key missions of International Capital Market Association (ICMA) and one of the lever of its actions. This is the reason why the association wants for them each year an event strategically essential as well as exceptional in order to maintain the internal cohesion, create links and favour ineractions.
During three days and on three different sites, its Annual General meeting must be considered as an incontrovertible moment in the international community.
The client to surprise
Founded in 1969, ICMA is an international association whose head office is located in Switzerland. Its mission is to promote all sectors of the wholesale and retail debt securities markets with around 600 members in 62 countries who are informed on regulatory issues, different operations and market practice while being provided with personalised services and assistance.
The challenge ahead
The Annual General meeting is one of the key moments of the financial markets’ agenda. With influential speakers from various governments, regulatory authorities, central banks and financial institutions, the AGM regularly attracts a broad audience of participants including ICMA’s international members or the financial community at large.
We were asked to think about the universe and the organisation of this edition so that ICMA could make the most out of this event by proposing a unique platform for exchange and discussions amongst its members, reporting on the main economic trends and creating an important networking area for the whole international financial community.
Each year in a different European capital city, it was an event in itself to welcome ICMA Annual General Meeting in Luxembourg, more especially since it was the opportunity to combine business with pleasure and to make the influent B2B public discover this beautiful city.
What we imagined
This event was not only supposed to be a “downlinked” conference but also a meeting place offering opportunities for dialogue. This is why the guests discovered an original design stage, focused on maximum opening in order to receive panel discussions, keynote speakers, presentations and video contents designed for the event while favouring exchanges and interactions.
In the lobby, stands, armchairs and tables were structuring the space entirely decorated with the colours and the modern graphism of the visual identity defined for this edition. The arrangement thus proposed was encouraging conviviality and relaxation between the speeches but also facilitating more confidential exchanges or serious discussions, two aspects of networking that needed to be seen as a whole and not one at the expense of the other.
We were therefore due to determine the logistical and technical requirements for the complete event production from scenography to the management of the guests for reception or Luxembourg city tour. We also had to define the staging and the visual identity that would be applied to every branding item for the main event but also for the side events such as the opening or closing evenings three days in and in three different places.
Dinner party at the Philarmonie Concert Hall
This is in the very heart of the Philharmonie Hall that the guests were invited for the opening ceremony of those three days of ICMA Annual General Meeting. With musical animations, mini-concerts, artistic happenings in the foyer and a room for chamber music, people just had to enjoy and relax.
Closing evening at Neimënster Abbey
Before bringing the conference to a close and climax, the closing dinner was served under a huge tent on the parvis of Neimënster Abbey together with numerous street animations, dances, fireworks in front of the Bock cliff at the foot of the casemates listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, aerial animations, a DJ set…
